About
Lourdes Cecilia Herrera Tejada is a professional with over 30 years of experience in public administration, personnel management, and strategic leadership. Her background in Industrial Psychology, complemented by a postgraduate degree in Personnel Evaluation and Selection, has allowed her to develop strong skills in planning, organizational leadership, and process optimization in both governmental and private institutions.
She has held key positions in public administration, serving as Director of the Office of the President of the Republic (2020-2024), where she led the planning of the presidential agenda, coordinated official events, and supervised personnel, ensuring efficiency in government management. Previously, she was the Personal Assistant to Luis Abinader (2014-2020), playing a fundamental role in organizing his political and operational agenda.
In the energy sector, she held the position of Secretary General of the Dominican Corporation of State Electrical Companies (CDEEE), where she oversaw the administrative functioning of the institution and was responsible for the Secretariat of Minutes of the Board of Directors. Additionally, she coordinated projects funded by multilateral organizations such as the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank, strengthening her experience in managing international programs.
In the private sector, she has held leadership positions at Grupo Abicor, where she excelled in strategic project management and team administration.
In the political sphere, she has been a key figure in the consolidation of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), of which she is a founding member, holding high-level roles such as 2nd National Deputy Secretary and member of the Executive Directorate. She also served as 1st Vice President and Acting President of the Dominican Social Alliance (ASD), promoting its growth and modernization.
On August 23, 2024, Lourdes Herrera was appointed Consul General of the Dominican Republic in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States of America, assuming the responsibility of strengthening ties between the Dominican community and the State, ensuring an efficient, transparent, and continuously improving consular management.
