The Consular Corps Association of Philadelphia (CCAP) is the oldest consular organization in the U.S.A, with membership including over 85 countries. Most consular activities fall into three categories which vary by country and circumstance. Consuls and honorary consuls:
- Facilitate commercial, cultural, educational, scientific, economic and government relationships between the Philadelphia region and their respective countries.
- Serve the diplomatic needs of foreign citizens and visiting dignitaries in Philadelphia.
- Serve as liaison between their sending country and regional diaspora.
CCAP is a 501(c)(3), non-profit corporation governed by a four-member Executive Committee elected each year and funded by dues, contributions, and sponsorships. Like any association, CCAP’s fundamental responsibility is to assist its Members in maximizing their individual effectiveness.
To address this objective, CCAP offers services and programs to its Members, including quarterly meetings and receptions with prominent speakers, sponsors and guests; specialized workshops, seminars and events focused on relevant issues and institutions; travel to strategic locations; and a centralized communications system with a website www.ccaphila.org and monthly newsletter.
